The mask and the mirror

The mask and the mirror
I act on the stage of life with a mask;
Day after day, I smile, I agree, I side
With society, the herd, and my pride;
Lost in submission--"who am I? " I ask.
The road I walk, glass of truth reflects;
Someone that seems so real but far away,
She waves with a smile to show me the way
To the long lost land that I did neglect.
Sunset arrives with the deep dense darkness,
That whispers the magic spells of the night--
To search my heart and soul under moonlight
To find the treasure of true happiness.
I looked hard into the mirror and saw,
A confidentface. The mask fell in awe.
